WASHINGTON, D.C. — As a longtime pillar of our nation’s capital, Georgetown is deeply committed to serving the Washington, D.C., metropolitan community. In light of many Washingtonians facing disruption and uncertainty, Interim President Robert M. Groves announced a University-wide initiative to aid displaced federal workers, as well as recent Georgetown graduates, with extensive career development resources. The School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is proud to support this joint initiative across Georgetown by offering a wide range of degree and non-degree program scholarships and training opportunities.
Graduate Degrees: 10 Percent Scholarship
For former federal workers seeking to deepen their expertise, expand their network, or even pivot to a new career, pursuing a master’s degree may be the fitting next step. Georgetown SCS is offering the Federal Workforce Transition Scholarship, which is a 10 percent scholarship on the base tuition for many of our master’s programs for the 2025–2026 academic year. In addition, SCS is waiving the application fee for these programs.
Eligible SCS programs include: all Master of Professional Studies programs, all Executive Master of Professional Studies programs, all Graduate Certificates, the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program, and the Doctor of Liberal Studies program.
This 10 percent scholarship is applicable to former federal workers applying for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. To receive this scholarship, students will be asked to show proof of federal civil service employment or affected status; some restrictions may apply.
For current eligible federal workers, Georgetown SCS offers the Federal Academic Alliance (OPM) Scholarship, which is also 10 percent.

Eligible participants may enroll in up to two online professional certificates from a curated selection of programs that align with in-demand industries, including AI Governance & Compliance, Cybersecurity Strategy, Data Science, Finance for Non-Financial Managers, Project Management, and the new Master Practitioner series in Leadership and Negotiation. Courses are available for registration through December 31, 2025.
Federal employees who have recently left government service due to downsizing or who have received notice of termination are eligible for the program. Those interested can learn more on the SCS website or contact the Georgetown SCS Enrollment Team at PDCprograms@georgetown.edu for details and registration assistance.

This scholarship will be applied to their tuition bill for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 upon joining a Master of Professional Studies program, Executive Master of Professional Studies program, Graduate Certificate, the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program, or the Doctor of Liberal Studies program.
