Brian Noland

Brian Noland is a Senior Counterintelligence Specialist at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

In this capacity, he is responsible for both Counterintelligence Analysis, focusing on Counterintelligence Threats to the execution of DTRA’s missions including work on international arms treaties, research and development, and cooperative threat reduction. He utilizes both open source and intelligence information to ensure that DTRA personnel are properly informed of all potential counterintelligence threats relation to both foreign intelligence entities and international terrorist organizations.

Previously, Brian worked for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (Formerly the Defense Security Service) as a Senior Counterintelligence Analyst and Senior Insider Threat Analyst. Brian also worked as a Watchlisting Analyst for the National Counterterrorism Center, specifically focusing on tracking of foreign fighters entering and exiting from Syria and Iraq. Previous to this, Brian worked at DIA as a Senior Operations Officer (Counterintelligence) responsible for the creation of the Foreign Visitor Threat Lead Package DIA used when briefing DIA personnel about possible foreign visitors who may exhibit a potential counterintelligence or force protection threat. He was recognized as a subject matter expert in his field and briefed at numerous meetings to both senior military and civilian leadership.

Brian spent eight years on active duty in the US Army as an enlisted soldier, holding both Military Occuptional Specialty 35M, Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Collector, and 35L, Counterintelligence Special Agent. He has served as a HUMINT team leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2008 to September 2009, and as a Senior HUMINT and CI NCOIC for 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division during Operation Enduring Freedom from April 2011 to April 2012.

Brian holds a BS from Juniata College in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Information Technology. He completed his MBA in Project Management from Norwich University.
