A social psychologist and researcher, Monica Robbins, studies how our media environment influences our thoughts and behavior. Everything from algorithmically targeted advertisements to politically polarized narratives, misinformation, and even entertainment choices shapes how we view the world. Understanding how these factors affect human behavior is the primary aim of Monica’s research. Her Ph.D. is in Psychology with an emphasis on media studies. Monica's dissertation is titled, "Modeling Relationships Between News Preferences, Vaccine Conspiracy Beliefs, and COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy." She is currently researching a book on science communication.

Monica is on the faculty at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. She teaches aspiring intelligence analysts how to synthesize insights for government policymakers while helping them avoid falling prey to misinformation and cognitive biases.

She has previously worked as a researcher and technologist in the federal government sector.
