Dr. Dolan brings a wealth of experience in academic program development and oversight, as well as in non-traditional learning environments. A seasoned higher education leader, he currently serves as Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Georgetown University’s School of Nursing, where he leads student services and enrollment management for the School's many degree and non-degree programs. Since joining Georgetown in 2015, he has held progressive leadership roles across multiple schools, including the McCourt School of Public Policy and the School of Continuing Studies. His expertise spans admissions strategy, academic policy, executive education, student affairs, and DEI initiatives. A collaborative problem-solver and strategic thinker, Dr. Dolan is deeply committed to fostering inclusive, student-centered environments and actively contributes to university-wide efforts in racial justice, disability inclusion, and academic integrity.
Before he began his career in academia, he worked in private industry for major media companies, such as the Washington Post Company and Knight Ridder, as well as AT&T and BellSouth. He then joined his alma mater, Pennsylvania State University, and served as an instructor and administrative leader for a variety of marketing, public relations, and media concentrations, as well as professional education programs for corporate audiences. He spent his last three years at Penn State as a senior administrator in the College of the Liberal Arts. He joined The George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs in 2013 as Director of Executive and Professional Education. At GW, he was responsible for the development, execution, and overall management of an executive education program with both open enrollment and customized professional education programs, bringing the unique expertise of the School’s faculty to audiences all over the world.
