Wendy Zajack
With more than 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, media relations and internal communications, Wendy Zajack, PhD, thrives on working to make complex topics and technologies easy to understand, exciting and relevant to broad audiences. She spent a her corporate career working for large, global organizations building messaging for multiple audiences and using a variety of marketing channels. She joined Georgetown in 2016 as a faculty director for the Integrated Marketing Communications and Design Management Communications program in the School of Continuing Studies. She loves creating an active student community and brings her extensive experience into the classroom teaching Capstone, Business Communications and a co-taught SCS course in Sustainability. Wendy teaches a variety of courses across the university including a Professional Communications course in the Georgetown SCS Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, a High School Summer Academy in Marketing & Personal Branding and a Luxury Marketing course at the McDonough School of Business. She continues to explore new and innovative ways to market and communicate in an increasingly crowded business environments.
Before joining Georgetown, Senior Director of Communications and Programs for the Nokia portfolio and innovation team. While there she worked to develop thought-leadership for the company’s key technology areas including cloud, IoT, 5G and its innovation engine Bell Labs. Prior to this role, Wendy held a variety of communications roles within Alcatel-Lucent including leading the efforts of its LGS government arm and within various product divisions of Lucent Technologies. She joined Lucent Technologies after serving in a media relations role for Reuters America where she was instrumental in the promotion of Reuters initial foray into a new online news model.
Wendy holds a B.S in Public Relations from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and a Masters in Business Administration from the New York University Stern School of Business. She has a PhD in Education from George Mason University. She is an active blogger and enjoys speaking at industry conferences and universities about the power of marketing and communications
