Karl Voglmayr

Karl is the founder and managing member of a Washington, DC-based real estate development company that specializes in the construction of single family homes and multi-unit restorations of historical buildings in the region.  He is responsible for the development of the program’s cutting edge Development and Construction Management course.

Karl’s renovation and rehabilitation of the 100 year-old gym at the National Park Seminary in Silver Spring, Maryland, and its conversion into the 12-unit Gymnasium Condominiums at NPS, received a 2017 Montgomery County Planning Department Design Excellence Award and the county’s 2015 Historic Preservation Award.  His company is currently working on another project at the NPS complex, the renovation and rehabilitation of three historic buildings and conversion into the 14-unit Power Plant at NPS residences.

Karl began his real estate career more than 30 years ago as a Superintendent for Trammell Crow and became one of the youngest Project Manager’s in the company’s history, before founding Washington Landmark 25 years ago.  Washington Landmark’s construction unit has built more than 20 architect-designed single family homes for its Washington, DC area clients and its development arm has built or repurposed numerous buildings, including residential high-rises, condominiums and numerous single family home conversions.

Karl is a graduate of Clark University (BA) and holds a Master’s in Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University.
