Brandon A. Benavides is a content producer at NBC4 Washington. He is president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Washington, D.C. Chapter. He also serves on the board of the SAG-AFTRA Washington Mid-Atlantic Local.
In 20-years in broadcast news, Benavides won four Emmy’s. He teaches at the University of Maryland and Georgetown University. He previously taught at the University of Texas at Tyler.
Benavides participated in the RIAS-Berlin Commission. During the two-week journalism exchange, he visited NATO headquarters and the European Union in Brussels, Belgium. He also traveled to Cologne and Berlin, Germany.
Benavides earned his master’s degree in Communication: Journalism and Public Affairs at American University in Washington, D.C., and his bachelor’s in communication from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.
