5 MAR 12 – 1PM ET

We invite you to participate in a virtual sample class for the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and Doctor of Liberal Studies degree programs. You’ll have the opportunity to get an inside look at each program by exploring an in-depth topic.

Class name: Qualitative Research Methods
Instructors: Tiffany Waits
Description: This course introduces students to the foundations of qualitative research through a combination of focused instruction and applied learning. The session begins by framing when and why qualitative methods are most useful for understanding experiences, perspectives, and context. Students are then introduced to core qualitative approaches, including interviews, focus groups, and observations. By the end of the session, students will be able to identify research questions well suited to qualitative methods and articulate the most commonly used qualitative data collection methods. The class will include a lecture as well as interactive prompts and activities.
