Cathy Copley is the founder and principal of Copley Communications, a marketing consultancy that specializes in research-driven message development and brand positioning. She is an expert marketing communications strategist, planner and consumer behavior expert, and works with clients to ensure their communications are based on breakthrough insight, solid strategy and creative and integrated execution across communications channels.
Prior to founding Copley Communications, Cathy was a senior vice president at Porter Novelli, where she led communications research and strategic planning efforts for clients across the network for more than ten years. This included leading efforts to uncover audience insights, develop message strategies and content, and measure and track campaign performance. Cathy joined Porter Novelli after working as an analyst with Peter D. Hart Research Associates where she conducted strategic positioning and public opinion research studies for a variety of nonprofit organizations and corporations. Her experience as the lead analyst for the firm in conducting regular public opinion surveys for NBC News and The Wall Street Journal helped her keep a firm pulse on American opinion.
A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, with a master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, Cathy earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Michigan.
