Laura Ferry

Laura Ferry is a social impact and sustainability executive, marketer, and entrepreneur whose work bridges academia, industry, and the nonprofit sector. She is Director at Georgetown University’s Business for Impact Center at the McDonough School of Business and Senior Director of the university’s Portion Balance Coalition, a cross-sector initiative advancing health, nutrition, and food sustainability. She also serves as an adjunct professor in Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies, teaching in the Integrated Marketing & Communications and Design Management & Communications master’s programs. In recognition of her teaching, Laura received Georgetown’s 2022 Tropaia Award for Outstanding Faculty.


Laura is the founder of Good Company, a consultancy known for corporate impact strategies and public–private partnerships, and co-founded an ed-tech company acquired by Google for Education. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles with NPR, PBS, and Discovery Communications, where she developed initiatives in STEM education, digital and financial literacy, and public health. She has partnered with organizations including the Partnership for a Healthier America, Ashoka, KaBOOM!, and global corporations to design programs and alliances that link business goals with social impact.


She holds an M.A. in Communications, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University, where she focused on emerging media and technology partnerships, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in English and Communications from Trinity University in Washington, D.C. She is also certified in Corporate Social Responsibility by Rutgers Business School. In addition to her faculty and staff roles, Laura is the proud parent of a current Georgetown junior in the College of Arts & Sciences.
