James R Dalkin is a lecturer in accounting and finance and co-creator of the Masters of Professional Studies in Real Estate program at Georgetown University. In 2010 Mr. Dalkin was appointed a member of the Auditing Standards Board (ASB). He chairs the performance audit task force and is a member of the audit quality and auditing issues task forces. In 2013 Mr. Dalkin was appointed to the Consultative Advisory Group (CAG) of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and International Ethics Standards Board (IESB). He was appointed CAG chairman in 2017. He has traveled globally promoting auditing and ethics standards for organizations including INTOSAI. Mr Dalkin has published in the Journal of Accountancy and Professional Services Marketing Journal. He is a certified public accountant. Mr. Dalkin has received recognition for his teaching in The Hoya, Georgetown University’s student newspaper. In addition, he received Georgetown's Tropaia award for outstanding teaching in 2013. Prior to Georgetown, Mr. Dalkin developed entrepreneurial ventures including a real estate investment company. He has also worked for a global accounting firm. Mr. Dalkin held a faculty position at the University of Arizona where he taught entrepreneurship. He has also taught in China at the IDP program.
